Hearts Together and UHPNT have been working together for over 20 years, providing accommodation and support services, whilst continuously building and developing to meet the changing needs of the patients and families receiving care at UHPNT, helping to reduce the stress and pressure at often very challenging times.

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and Hearts Together will be working collaboratively throughout the Big Build Project to ensure that the development delivers the best outcomes for patients, carers and relatives as part of our ongoing partnership.

In the first three months of this year alone there were 1287 nights of stay that we were unable to accommodate; 319 families we could not help in their time of need due to a lack of capacity within our existing Hospital Hotel accommodation. This challenge is only set to increase as more and more specialist services are being provided by UHPNT (known locally as Derriford Hospital),  with plans to expand these further, and people continue to travel from across the region and further afield to access these vital healthcare services. By partnering with UHPNT in the development of the Big Build, we can ensure that as the needs of the hospital develop and grow we do as well, creating service and support tailored to the needs of the patients and families at UHPNT.
