We’re delighted that this year Hearts Together will have a marquee on Plymouth Hoe for the fantastic Run Plymouth event on 17th May 2026. We’re also thrilled to have an incredible group of runners championing Team Hearts Together this year across both the Half Marathon and 10K.

We need your help!

We are on the lookout for volunteers who can help us at the event and champion Hearts Together. Can’t commit to the full day? No problem! Whether you can spare a few hours or stay all day, we’d really appreciate any help.

We’re excited to be running our charity café at Harewood House in Plympton from 7th–11th September 2026! Come along, enjoy a cuppa and a sweet treat, have a chat with our team and find out more about Hearts Together. Or, if you’d like to get more involved, why not join us as a volunteer and help us make the week a success?
The Story behind our Anniversary Film

Every year, Hearts Together supports over 8,000 families navigating some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Our guests tell us in thank-you notes, in conversations over breakfast, in messages years later, about the difference we make. To mark our 25th anniversary, we wanted to find a way to share that with the world.

Could you be our next Chair Of The Board Of Trustees ?

We are looking for a purpose-led individual keen to help support and shape our future plans, joining us during a time that will certainly be looked back on as the most crucial in our development as we move forward with our ambitious £11.5M expansion plan. We are seeking a Chair who shares our culture, values and behaviours, who is motivated by our purpose and has a passion to grow our charity.
Young Volunteers and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Volunteers

We welcome Young Volunteers who are either completing the Volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh's award or completing placement hours for other programs such as with The Princes Trust, or those who just want to help out and gain some valuable work Experience!
Community Champion

At Hearts Together, we know that our work touches lives from across the country — but our biggest challenge is that, by the very nature of what we do, most of the guests we support do not live locally. Families often travel long distances to access treatment or visit loved ones in hospital, and once their stay with us ends, they return home. That's where our Community Champions come in...
Housekeeping Volunteer

Our home from home accommodation sees around 10,000 patients, carers and relatives staying with us each year and we are open 365 days a year. This means there are a lot of beds to change! We have a busy team of housekeepers but an extra pair of hands to make the odd bed or two is always greatly appreciated!
New Trustees

We are looking for a new trustees to join our board to help us to achieve our ambitious goals for the future. Are you the person we are looking for?

Situated only a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive from Univeristy Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, (Derriford Hospital) and The Nuffield Hospital. Keeping you close by when you need to be and offering a comfortable and restful place to stay.

Our Vision

The generosity of fundraisers and charity supporters enables us to provide thousands of patients, carers & relatives with a home away from home and invaluable support, when they or a loved one are receiving medical care or treatment
Are you a healthcare professional or trainee?

Hospital hotel accommodation for healthcare professionals and trainees in close proximity to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (Derriford Hospital), The Nuffield Hospital and the Hyperbaric Treatment Centre (DDRC)
Our plans to expand

Our big build project sees Hearts Together set to expand from 26 bedrooms to 73 over two build phases, an ambitious but very necessary challenge that we intend to meet head on, as we look to accommodate the ever-growing needs of patients, carers, relatives, our local community, healthcare professionals and trainees.
Our Shuttle Vehicle

This service has already shown to be absolutely invaluable, helping to reduce the stress and cost of transport, meaning that our guests can stay focused on supporting their loved ones or getting better themselves.
Supporting the work we do

Support us to expand our services and help more people in need with: accommodation, counselling, peer support, equipment and new services
Pre & Post-Operative Cardiac Care
Pay it forward

If you have been helped by our charity and would like to help others like you, why not make a donation or fundraise for our pay it forward campaign. We use the money raised through this appeal to provide financial support to individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford to stay at our Hospital Guest Accommodation. Your support makes a huge difference to people's lives.
