Maggie Marks 15 Years with Hearts Together We were delighted to recently celebrate one of our fantastic team members, Maggie, who has now been part of Hearts Together for an incredible 15 years! Many of you who have stayed with us, called in, or needed support over the years will know Maggie and her famously calming Scottish voice. She is a steady and reassuring presence on our reception desk, helping to steer the ship and ensuring that every guest has everything they need during their stay. Maggie is known for always going the extra mile, not only for our guests but also for her colleagues. Whether it's helping someone collect a prescription, tracking down a forgotten phone charger, staying late to support a family, or even offering to care for a guest's dog while their family stayed at the hotel, Maggie consistently demonstrates extraordinary kindness. She is far more than a member of staff, she is a true friend to so many of our guests. From booking families in and carefully managing room availability to ensure people can stay close to their loved ones, to being a shoulder to cry on and a compassionate listening ear, Maggie balances it all with warmth and genuine empathy. Reflecting on her time at Hearts Together; "I enjoy helping people, listening to them, and lending a hand wherever I can. I especially enjoy doing this as part of such a small and dedicated team. There have been so many rewarding moments over the last 15 years – far too many to choose from! It has been incredibly rewarding to help train new members of staff, watch them develop, and ultimately become great friends. Out of all my experiences over the years, one stands out more than the rest. I once had to deliver a baby at the hotel before the ambulance arrived. It was a completely surreal experience and one that I will never forget. I often reflect on the people and families who have stayed with us. Some remain for a long time, and you get to know them really well. There is a real sense of reward in knowing that you were there to help someone when they needed it most, and I hope that I made a difficult time a little easier for them. Over 15 years, there have inevitably been many changes – new staff, new systems, and new ways of working. Keeping up with constantly evolving technology has probably been the biggest challenge, but it's nothing that we as a team haven't been able to tackle together. The best part of my job is knowing, when I leave at the end of the day, that I have made a difference and helped people." Thank you, Maggie, for 15 years of unwavering dedication and compassion. Hearts Together simply wouldn't be the same without you, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do. Manage Cookie Preferences
