Co-Op Local Causes How does Co-op Local Causes work? The Co-operative Group is owned by their members and other Co-ops, not big investors. When you become a Co-op Member, you can choose a local cause to support through your membership. This might be a park, community space or a local charity. As you spend on Co-op products and services, you'll also be contributing to your chosen local cause. For every £1 you spend on selected Co-op products and services, 2p goes into your membership account and Co-op give the same amount to support community organisations and local causes. How this cause is helping us to support the community At Hearts Together we would like help in purchasing a minibus to transport patients and relatives to and from hospital, their homes and other destinations they need to get to during their duration at the Hearts Together Hospital Hotel. We would also like to recruit more volunteers to help run the transport service for patients and their relatives to ensure they receive the essential treatment they need. During the Covid-19 pandemic, people have found it increasingly difficult to travel to receive their care and have not been able to rely on others due to the impacts of the virus e.g. social distancing. Therefore, this is an essential service that will in the future, support communities across the South West. View our cause - HERE Photo: Example of what our van will look like.
