The Story behind our Anniversary Film Every year, Hearts Together supports over 8,000 families navigating some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Our guests tell us in thank-you notes, in conversations over breakfast, in messages years later, about the difference we make. To mark our 25th anniversary, we wanted to find a way to share that with the world. The result is Hey Guys, Keep Going. 25 Years of Being Together — a short film told entirely in the voices of the people who have stayed with us. Twenty-five years is a long time, and marking it responsibly took some thought. We knew early on that this film would only work if we let the contributors lead. There is no script, no voiceover, no statistics. Just people speaking in their own words about what Hearts Together meant to them. Sean and his family came to Hearts Together during one of the hardest periods any family can face. As we got to know them, it became clear that their values — and the way they wanted their story told — were built on hope, joy and celebration. When they shared that Caitlin's favourite phrase, "Hey guys, keep going," had become an informal family motto, we knew immediately that we had found not just the heart of the film, but its title. Diana's story carries the same spirit. A volunteer and Community Champion who was once a guest herself, her presence in the film embodies the quiet, steadfast commitment that the Hearts Together community is built on. We worked with BryteSpark Communication to producer and Foxred Productions to shoot to film and their experience in sensitive, people-centred, ethical storytelling matched what we were trying to do. For a small charity working to a modest budget, holding that standard of care alongside professional production quality was a real undertaking. We think it was worth it. The film premiered at the Plymouth Charity Business Group fundraising gala dinner in June 2026 — and in a deliberate choice, it was shown in place of a traditional CEO speech. The people who have experienced Hearts Together's support are the most powerful advocates for it, and it felt important that their voices were the ones filling the room. We were deeply honoured that Sean and Diana accepted our invitation to attend in person. Their presence on the night made a profound impression on everyone there. This film exists because a small number of people agreed to share something personal, in the hope that it would help Hearts Together be here for future families when they need us. We are grateful to each of them. Thanks to BryteSpark Communication and Foxred Productions for the care and skill they brought to the project. And we are grateful to everyone who has supported Hearts Together over the past 25 years — the donors, volunteers, partners and Community Champions who have made it possible for us to keep our doors open, day after day, for families who need us. Twenty-five years. Tens of thousands of families. One open door. Here's to the next twenty-five. Manage Cookie Preferences
