'I am going to go for a walk for a mile a day, each day, throughout November raising funds for Hearts Together'

Hearts Together is a superb charity, that supports relatives who have loved ones in the local Plymouth hospitals, by offering low-cost accommodation and support, such as counselling, travel, and meals, at their wonderful Hearts Together Hospital Hotel, with superb staff, and beautiful surroundings.

I am personally so thankful for the services and support they provide, they helped me immensely this year during a difficult time, and so I know first-hand how valuable this charity is. I first became aware of ‘Hearts Together Hospital Hotel’ in May 2023, when a relative was admitted into Derriford as an emergency. After driving up and down from Cornwall every day to visit, trying to cope with the travelling and traffic each morning and late evening I decided to have a break and look for some accommodation in the Derriford area. I am so glad that I did, they were amazing, welcoming me, providing support, free parking, free transport to and from Derriford, a gorgeous en-suite room, a wonderful breakfast and access to the hotel all day, it is a complete haven, and watching the wonderful wildlife including the deer was an added bonus in beautiful surroundings. 

"I can't thank them enough for looking after me and despite the very difficult and emotional situation I really enjoyed my time at Hearts Together Hospital Hotel. The staff are amazing and real angels of mercy during uncertain times."

Undertaking this fundraising challenge is my way of giving back and saying a huge thank you to everyone who made such a difference.
