Bro John Francis Scooter Challenge

The Our Boys Lodge is part of an National fraternal organisation, the RAOB. We meet at the Hyde Park social Club Peverell every Tuesday evening. Our aims are benevolent towards our own members and their families, we also look to support local charities in the vital and much needed work they carry out for the community. We are supporting Hearts Together throughout 2024, and will be raising funds at our various social events.

Plymouth Fundraising

This Scooter challenge:

Image of JohnBro John who is 88, has been a Brother in our Order for 45 years. In 2023 the Lodge purchased a scooter for Bro John to get out and about, as he has very limited mobility. The Order at all levels helped with the purchase of the Scooter with funding coming in from Grand Lodge Benevolence, Provincial Grand lodge Benevolence and Lodge Benevolence, for which Bro John is most grateful. The challenge is to ride the scooter around the perimeter of Plymouth Hoe, for as many laps as Bro John feels able or when the battery is depleted. The Scooter has a range of 10 miles (16km), each lap of Plymouth Hoe is approx. 2/3 of a mile (1km). All monies received will be put towards this year’s Lodge Charity Appeal The Hearts Together Hospital Hotel at Derriford. Please support Bro John and the Lodge for this worthwhile cause. Further information about Hearts Together can be found on line or from the Lodge.

Thank you
