Become a peer supporter

Would you like to make a difference & help others?
Could you be a peer supporter?

Hearts Together are looking for individuals to offer their services as peer supporters who have:
– undergone heart surgery
– followed a cardiac rehabilitation programme
– been diagnosed with a heart condition
– who are the relative, carer or parent of someone with a cardiac condition

What is a peer supporter and what do they do?

A peer supporter is someone who uses their own experiences and knowledge to help and support others who may find themselves in a similar situation. A peer supporter may speak to someone over the phone, meet with them on a one to one basis, provide email support, meet by Skype or run a support group.

How can you get involved?

Hearts Together are looking for volunteers across Devon, Cornwall and The Scilly Isles to register their interest in becoming a peer supporter. There are no specific time commitments we are asking you to make and it is up to you if you would like to support people face to face, over the phone or by an alternative means. Once you have registered your interest we will be in touch to explain the programme and the support you can expect to receive from us.
